Elementor Stuck on Loading Screen

While editing with Elementor, you may encounter a grey screen or loading indicator that never completes. This issue can occur due to theme settings, plugin conflicts, browser extensions, or server configuration.

Elementor Loading Issue: Causes and How to Fix Them

1. Plugin or Script Conflict

Elementor may fail to load due to conflicts with other plugins or custom scripts in the Crafto theme. Enable Safe Mode, deactivate other plugins, and reactivate them one by one to identify the conflict. If the issue continues, contact Crafto and Elementor support.

2. Browser Add-ons

Sometimes, browser extensions—particularly ad blockers, script blockers, or other security-related add-ons—can interfere with the loading of the Elementor editor. These extensions may block essential scripts required for Elementor to function properly, resulting in a grey screen or an editor that doesn’t load. To determine if this is the cause, try accessing Elementor using a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Opera. Alternatively, you can open your current browser in an incognito or private browsing window, which temporarily disables most extensions. If Elementor loads correctly in this environment, it is likely that a browser add-on is causing the conflict.

3. Crafto Theme Preloader

Another possible cause of Elementor getting stuck on the loading screen is the preloader animation included with the Crafto theme. While this animation is useful for enhancing the front-end user experience, it can sometimes interfere with the Elementor editor interface, preventing it from loading properly. To resolve this issue, you can disable the preloader by navigating to Appearance > Customize > Advanced Theme Options > Page Preloader in your WordPress dashboard. Disabling this setting often allows Elementor to load without interruption.

4. Cross-Origin or X-Frame Restrictions

Some hosting providers apply cross-origin or X-Frame restrictions that can prevent Elementor from loading properly. To check, right-click the Elementor screen, select Inspect, and open the Console tab to look for errors like X-Frame-Options: DENY. If found, contact your hosting provider and request them to change the X-Frame-Options setting to SAMEORIGIN.

5. Cloudflare Rocket Loader (if applicable)

If your Crafto-powered site uses Cloudflare, the Rocket Loader feature can sometimes delay or block Elementor’s scripts, causing the editor to get stuck. To resolve this, start by clearing the Cloudflare cache before updating Elementor or Elementor Pro. If the issue persists, temporarily disable Rocket Loader, or create page rules in Cloudflare to exclude URLs related to the Elementor editor.

6. Outdated Elementor Versions

Using mismatched or outdated versions of Elementor and Elementor Pro can cause the editor to fail to load properly. To avoid this, always make sure both plugins are updated to their latest compatible versions.

If the issue still persists, temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four) and test Elementor. If it loads correctly, the issue may relate to the Crafto theme setup.
